Lacey Group Won’t Quit Fighting For Hiking Trail

The chief proponent of a pedestrian and bicycle path, having gained a nonprofit status for her group, is doubling her efforts to win public opinion for the “rail trail.” In an unscheduled move last week, the Township Committee voted 4 to 1 to proceed with the building of a new road over about two miles of the old Central Railroad of New Jersey right of way. The road is seen as a solution to traffic congestion on Route 9.
