A conservative energy group will keep the stream of pro-coal ads flowing in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia in the coming weeks with a combined seven-figure ad buy.
The American Energy Alliance (AEA) spent $600,000 on a cable and network TV ad that criticizes President Obama’s coal record. AEA, which will run the ad Saturday through Oct. 26 in Ohio and Virginia, also plans to secure Internet space for the ad, spokesman Benjamin Cole told The Hill on Friday.
The coal ad is the latest in a barrage from outside groups and campaigns for both Obama and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney that have saturated the airwaves in coal-heavy Ohio and Virginia.
